A conference run by youth, for today's youth, to benefit the youth of tomorrow, MUNISH is the embodiment of Model United Nations. It is an admirable opportunity to draw together conscientious, committed young citizens of the world to engage in the exchange of inspiring ideas. An eclectic and international mix of delegates, chairs, press officers, and advisors totaling over 700 participants congregate at MUNISH for a weekend full of debate, hard work and plenty of fun.
The theme of this year's conference is, "Peace and Justice". Peace and Justice is a goal the United Nations strives for, a concept upon which our society is based. However, millions around the world are deprived of their peace and justice. Martin Luther King once said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." We hope that participants will be inspired to celebrate the peace and justice they have and to whole heartedly support efforts to ensure peace and justice around the world. Peace and justice are two sides of the same coin; they will always influence each other. Conflicts have led to severe human rights violations and lack of government and laws have led to conflicts. But can world peace really ever be accomplished? Do the laws always bring justice? And can justice bring peace? We hope that when participants travel back to their home countries they will take an inspiration and desire to fight for global peace and justice with them. This year's theme will be reflected on the issues to be debated and will be the focus of the Special Conference, International Criminal Court, International Court of Justice, Security Council, and Advisory Panel on the question of Syria.
